Pre-Columbian Mesoamerica: Central Mexico, Oaxaca, Yucatan, and Tikal

The following are a few of the 750 catalogued digital images now available in tiff format, scanned from several thousand slides taken during field work by

Dr. Clifford A. Kiracofe, Jr. at Tikal and at Teotihuacan in the 1980s (seen on the first two rows below), and by Dr. James B. Kiracofe at the other sites between 1993 and 1995.

The scanning was done on a flatbed scanner using oil immersion to obtain the highest quality digital images. The balance of the slide collection

is in the process of being scanned. Special requests for scans of the as yet un-scanned material are welcomed and requested scans will be made promptly.

The images randomly displayed here have been converted to jpeg format at reduced size and resolution and are presented only to give an idea of the scope and

quality of the collection, offered by license as a catalogued set with complete metadata at full resolution and size in tiff format.

These images are protected by copyright and may not be copied for any purpose by any means without prior permission.
